Buttoned up finally

Well, a few months back I had the truck towed home (with the dead TH400 and oil/transmission pan off). It has been empty of fluids for around 7 months per the previous owner.

Buttoned the two up filled them both with fluids and she started right up.(after battery charge of course) Once running I put it in gear and nothing..checked the fluid and added another quart of transmission fluid in and then all gears engaged and I have ventured out to the driveway

I'm afraid to go too far as the oil pressure is pegged at max and I'm still not sure about the "dead" transmission. Also, I may have overfilled the transmission (8) quarts but I can't tell because I'm color blind and couldn't see the "pink" my son said was there.
