Old guy, new to this forum

An up front thanks to all the current members that have been posting on the site, you've given me the confidence to start this build. I go by Ramjet, been into cars since very early, lots of Rods in my past, couple of pickups, but only a serious ground up build on a 51 Chevy pickup. Since I got so screwed over by a couple of no talents in upper state SC, watching them butcher camaros, putting new panels on and never removing the rust, I think I can do a better job myself. To totally rebuild a cab myself was also driven by the piece of mind I gain from actually knowing what's been accomplished. I mean, I've seen some better looking cabs, but l get hints of bondo and such. So...since I'm retired, I'm cheating quite a bit. My Plan: 67 SB fleetside, LS3 connect and cruise package already sitting in the garage, March serpentine total kit also stored on the shelf. Last week I ordered a "No Limit Engineering" chassis, coilovers on four corners, power R&P, 9" with 3:73 trac lok, tank w/ FI pump, camaro big brakes up front, Ford Explorer rear disc with emerg brakes, all lines run, powder coated and assembled. Bought the bed last sat from Classis muscle and two cabs this past Monday. I now have the better cab on the rotisserie and the top clipped from the other....I'll start my thread tonight....thanks for the join.

Welcome aboard...

No such thing as an "old guy", just loads of life experiences.

That build sounds sweet! Looking forward to the build thread.

I know what you mean about "butchers"..we all need to be wary of the BS....

Again, welcome aboard.

Wow sounds like you're putting together one heck of a truck. I love the chassis that a few vendors are building for these trucks. The coilovers should give you a nice ride and stance. And you can't beat a '67 shortbed. Looking forward to seeing some progress.

Thanks, I just finished reading one of your builds, gave me a ton of info and one thing that has been giving me some concern....I had NO idea I could do door/fender gaps without the chassis, now I'll follow your lead...great thread!!
