8 lug American racing wheels
I found these 8 lug wheels from American racing. They offer them in 16", 17" and 18". I was looking at the 18x9 in satin black. Do you guys think they'll look good on a 69 c20? Would there be any fitment issues? My truck is lowered about 3.5 in front and 5.5 in back. I'd Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Re: 8 lug American racing wheels
Do you still have the 8 lug front and rear end?? The rims should fit just fine either way. ARE is going to make them in various back spacing + you should be ok so long as you keep the overall diameter reasonable.
What size tire are you trying to run ?? Do you have leaf springs out back ?? |

OOPS
Read to fast and missed the fact that you said you still have 8 lug. My mistake. I think you should be safe so long as you keep your tire diameter around 28" or so. |

Re: 8 lug American racing wheels
Do they offer 8 x 6.5" bolt pattern?

Yes. Up to 18×9. I believe 8x6.5 is the same as 8x165.1.

Re: 8 lug American racing wheels
They should list them so someone would know. The pattern is 8 on 6.5". It's SAE. Never was metric and never will be. I've driven 8-lug trucks all my life and never knew the metric equivalent, never needed to, still don't. Converting to come up with a halfassed metric fraction of a figure is ridiculous when we have and always have had plain and simple 6.5", and always will. They show the backspace, width, and diameter in SAE. When will those become halfassed metric measurements that mean nothing?
I'd like the wheels if they could just leave the black off of them.

Re: 8 lug American racing wheels
I am building an 8 lug truck as well and have done lots of reading about wheels. Not a lot of options for us compared to other rigs, but my advice is 18x9 is probably going to be a tad too wide for the front. I was actually considering buying these exact wheels for my truck but scored a set of vintage Ultra wheels cheap.
My choice would be: 17x8 up front and either 17x8/9 or an 18x9 for the rear depending on your axle width, tire selection, bed etc. |
