door shells
Looking for RH and LH door shells for my 63. No joy on any of the normal parts suppliers. Anyone have any suggestions. Mine are in fair/poor condition. Lower inner and outer rust issues and repair panels look like a hard job. Thanks.

Re: door shells
Unfortunately, 60-63 doors are not being reproduced, only lower inner/outer patch panels and full outer door skins. Original doors in good condition are bringing premium prices. Repairing them is not really that difficult if you have a good mig welder and take careful measurements.

Re: door shells
If you attempt to replace the lower 8-10" of the skin. Be sure to tack weld a piece of flat metal stock perpindicular to the door, across the door about an inch or so above your cut. It will maintain the crown in the door after you cut it. Otherwise it'll drop in the centre and it's very hard to get it back to the right contour.

Are you talking horizontal or vertical to the line?

Re: door shells
I make a cardboard templates, tracing the curvature of both sides of the door before cutting. Helps to get everything lined back up before welding.

Re: door shells
Horizontal. Since the doors are crowned there will be a space on each end, so just need to build the weld up starting on the steel plate. Then when done you can just flex the steel and it'll snap off.
