Just bought a 2002 chevy 4x4
I have some questions...one it has a 2003 front end and some lights don't match all the way ( the cat eyes ) Two it has a small oil drop from under the motor looks like it might be rear main seal but not sure.. think it had some front end damage from a previous wreck but was fixed and drives great sloppy steering but figure a whole ball joint kit will fix it ... drives good was wanting a decent work truck picked it up for 3800 has 183k miles rebuilt transmission state 2 shift kit ....anything I should be looking at or need to check..it's a work truck toy

What lights don't match exactly do you have any pictures of the lights that you're talking about? I would definitely be getting that front end checked out and fixing all the worn out parts not a fan of having crappy or sloppy steering truck or car at all. Sounds like you got a decent play truck for the price though.

Intermediate shaft on the steering. It runs between the box and the column and has a rectangular slip/fit section for accidents. They ALL wear out. Every 40-50k miles like clockwork.

I will have to look at that it has a deep growling when going around curves.

Well the shaft and all looks good without the engine running I had my wife turn the steering wheel and see what was giving ... The shaft to the steering box all looked good but there was probably about 2 inches of movement in the top under the box the big but for the idler arm was what I was looking at and it only moved 1 cm
