Hello All,

My 68 gmc has the original 351 V6/manual 3-speed, which will be replaced shortly by a 350V8/TH350 setup. Right now there is a cross-member that supports the rear of the motor since the 3-speed just hangs in the air from the engine.
I do have the correct cross-member for the auto ready to install. My question is, do I need to remove this other cross-member prior to installing my V8/auto-trans setup?

yes, and that 351 V6 is a rare engine in a light duty pickup. Most had 305 V6's. If it runs and is complete someone may want it.

The truck is a 3/4 ton camper special LWB, with really low rear end gears, probably 4.11's... The motor runs fine, no smoke and the only oil it uses is from leaks. Just a bit to much vibration and the gas mileage is terrible!

There is a website dedicated to that engine and it's cousins. PM boardmember Erl, as he has the URL for it if you're interested. Someone may want it if you have the space to store it.
