Re: '88-'98: What Size Tire and Wheel are You Running?
Havent had any Issues at all. I did a little playing around last night. 22X9.5 with a 265/35/22 on the rear, fits perfect other than I would have to roll the lip a little bit. Could probably use a little more sidewall tho .... Maybe a 285/35/22 .... Gonna try one when I get some in stock . No way it will work on the front lowered this much.

Re: '88-'98: What Size Tire and Wheel are You Running?
Basic set up:
Front end: Lowered about 4” with 2” drop spindles and drop springs Cut fender flange lip off flush with inner fender well, spot welded inner & outer back together and ground smooth. Pulled inner fender well bolt directly above tire out. Rear end: Lowered about 6’ with axle flip kit and c-notch plates. Added some air-assist air bags so he could have some adjustability on rear ride height and adjust for carrying a load or pulling a trailer. Had to do some e-brake relocating and rerouting to clear air bags and keep from rubbing the inside of the wheel and tires. Rolled rear fender flange with vise grips and shot filled rubber mallet. Then with a hydraulic-jack a 2x4 slightly widened the outer fender paying very close attention to the sheet metal as to not distort anything. Gained about 3/8” Wheels and Tires: Front: Showheels Streeters 18” x 8” with 0 offset mounted with Falken Ziex ZE-612 (235/60R-18) Rear: Showheels Streeters 18” x 9” with a +6 offset mounted with Falken Ziex ZE-612 (265/60R-18) More: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=621197 Last edited by devind; 03-17-2014 at 10:35 PM. |

Re: '88-'98: What Size Tire and Wheel are You Running?
Thanks,
It has been a fun little build with my son. He needed something dependable he could drive back and forth from collage. Plus he races mountain and road bikes so he built some little bike rakes to haul his bikes around in the back when he goes to races. I have always felt if and when you can give your cars and trucks a little personalty if you can. I hope some of this thinking rubs off on him. |

Re: '88-'98: What Size Tire and Wheel are You Running?
First I have to say there are many great looking trucks in this post.
On my 91 K1500 I purchased Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT265/75R16 Load Range E a little over a year ago. The truck rides and handles good for LR-E tires. Traction in winter is great. Tires are wearing well. I run the OEM aluminum wheels - 16X7. http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Light...ERER-A-T3.aspx

Re: '88-'98: What Size Tire and Wheel are You Running?
My '95 Suburban has 7" Accuride steel wheels. First I was running 255/85-16s. It needed tires this summer and the 255s were hard to find a deal on so I went to 285/75s. Looks like I have no pictures yet with the 285/75s
