I've recently aquired a 72 K10. Purchased new by my grandmother. It's rough, but she runs. Last licensed in 2016. Debated driving it home. Glad I didn't. Up on the lift for 1st time today. One rear leaf spring busted and hanging by one end. Other Spring holding on by single U bolt. Let the spending begin!

Re: New Member

Boy, that seat looks familiar...LOL

A slow build can be a good thing. Do a little here and there, when you can. Try to never disable the vehicle completely, at least for more than a weekend or two. Keeping it in running condition is the best situation, AND makes yourself and anyone else in family or neighbors, city municipalities a lot happier...

My 68 has been apart way too long, BUT my plans are getting closer...

Re: New Member

The seat is as bad as it looks. Cover is obviously shot. Foam needs replaced. Springs are busted and mounting bracket's broken. The harder I look the more I find. But, . . .

I tell Maggie (the original owner) of my seat woes, and she says "Well don't spend any money on the seat 'till you stop by the house. I've got another seat frame with good springs and mounting hardware in the garage."

I think maybe she's hoarding parts until I ask for them. I wonder if she's hiding a rust free cab somewhere.
