'62 Lower Ball Joints
Used this forum often, first post. Started putting drop spindles with the disc brake conversion on my 62. I thought since everything is off, could be a good time to install new ball joints. Started pricing the lower ball joint, which is all over the board. 50.00 up to 300.00. Just curious if any of the 60-62 owners changed theirs out and what company they used. I just know there is a lot of junk out there, kind of only wanted to do this once. I'm staying with the torsion front suspension. Also I would like give a big Thanks to everyone for all the help I have already received here.

Re: '62 Lower Ball Joints
I wanted to keep all my 1961 front suspension pasts USA made so I bought the Rare Parts brand RP10111 from Jegs. http://www.jegs.com/i/Rare-Parts/202/RP10111/10002/-1 They're not cheap at $350 per pair but I plan on keeping my truck until I'm buried in it.
I also used: Moog ES312RL outer tie rods Moog ES631 inner tie rods Moog K680 upper ball joints All of the Moog parts are inexpensive and easy to find. I still need a few more weeks to get them installed. |

Re: '62 Lower Ball Joints
Thanks For the replies, didn't realize that this post was still out there. I ended up getting one lower ball joint, ( I believe it was around 50 or 60 bucks sent) off of ebay. And the other one, and I just went through my records to check it out was from Rare Parts. Sent to my house for 196.93. Things seem to work ok, only have about 30 miles on the truck, working out other problems.
