Advance Curve Kit

Anyone use an adjustable vacuum control and advance curve kit on their distributor? Carb is getting clean up and I should have it back Friday.

Re: Advance Curve Kit

I have an Accel adjustable vac advance can and think it's a pretty nice little tuning instrument. Have been meaning to put some lighter springs in my distributor to get my mech. advance all in quicker too, but haven't done it. Which weight/spring kit did you go with?

Re: Advance Curve Kit

The carb shop told me to use a silver (medium) and black (light) spring. They told me not use the gold spring. I will find out how it works out this weekend

I meant more along the lines of the brand you chose to go with. Let us know how it runs though!

Re: Advance Curve Kit

The one problem with the Accell adjustable vacuum pots(at least the one I have) is what you are adjusting is how much advance you get, not when it comes in. On mine, the advance comes in around 10~11 inches and comes all in fairly quickly. I think the factory pots come in a bit more gradual and you used to be able to get ones that came in at different levels of vacuum.

Good point. I like the spot where mine comes in, so maybe I just got lucky and it works for my setup. It certainly has a lot of unused advance left in it though.

I brought a Mr Gasket kit for a local speed shop. I believe it was the only one on the wall. I would bought it from Summit if the speed shop didn't have it.
