Wilwood ebrake

Has anyone installed the Wilwood ebrake system? I have the lines ran and rear hooked up but I'm a little confused on where to tie in the front of the cables. They seem way too long to me. Am I suppose to cut them done and hook them up to the equalizer bracket for the old ebrake?

Are you referring to the disc style e-brake like the ones I run, or the drum/shoe style that fits inside the rotor hub?


For mine, I use a Lokar e-brake intermediate cable kit to connect to the balance bar near the transmission tail.

I'm using the drum/she style the fits inside the rotor hat of the Wilwood disc brakes. I have the cables ran up to the tail of the transmission to all the existing ebrake mounting points but the cables are way longer then they should be. So I'm curious if I'm over looking somethings but the Wilwood instructions don't mention trimming the provided cables to proper length. I want to make sure I'm not missing something before I trim them

You're not missing anything...they make the cables long to accommodate extra long applications. I had to trim mine a little.

I don't and my truck is at the paint shop. It's very similar to the factory set up, except I fabricated a bracket to locate the e-brake balance bar assembly below the tubular transmission crossmember since I raised the drive train a little in the chassis. Here's an old photo of the balance bar:

Yeah that's how mine looks. Just curious where to connect it. Since the new cables come into 1 mounting point versus the old two seperate mounting point on the equalizer bar. Curious if I should connect it to just one side of the equalizer or by pass it and connected the cables to the same point as the ebrake cable coming from the cab

Working on that same issue now. Installed wilwood d154 rear disk kit and wondering how I am going to rune ebrake / parking brake cable. Any pictures?
