1967 chevy k10 ignition
PLEASE HELP
I have recently bought a 1967 chevy k10 with 4 speed manual transmission with 327 engine. When bought started and turned off fine. Since then Pulled and replaced clutch and in process pulled starter and put back in. Then truck ran but would not turn off even with key pulled so put in 4 and popped clutch to kill. Replaced Ignition module and key insert...Did not work (started but would not turn off). Then would not start at all so replaced Alternator, Coil, Distributor Cap, Rotor, Point and Condensor with no luck...It Ran but would not stop running . Then would not start at all. Any idea what is going on? I seem to get power to ignition and then next time I check I have no power their. I deduced that white/black wire from fire wall was a resistance wire that previous owner spliced with regular wire. So I cut and ran regular wire from fire wall block (Black/White wire) added a ceramic resistor between Firewall Wire block into a resistor and then to coil and then down to R on solenoid on starter. I do have the Purple to S on Solenoid. I bought truck for young teenage sons to learn with me and now at the end of my witts. Thanks |
