Re: Chromed our grill

Mike already provided a good original example. Here are a few more for reference just in case. I think it looks pretty good! But the 72 approach looks just as good. My 71 only had the headlight black ring when I had it. Not many 71s have it anymore.

Re: Chromed our grill

Thanks for pictures. Those are all 71's. Wow. Well we got time to decide which way we want to go. But that's a lot to paint black. Think it will stay painted or wear off?? Look great though. And that was only done on 71's. 72s only had the black around headlights? Learn something new everyday. Thanks for info.

Re: Chromed our grill

I accidentally ended up with a chrome outer grill when I did my truck. I ordered a new grill over the phone (*big mistake) and they sent me the wrong one. I ended up with the grill pictured below which I initially thought was awful but then I realized the outer was the same. I sold my inner at a swap meet for $100 and ordered a factory inner. Same look an probably cheaper in the long run

Re: Chromed our grill

Why not use some sort of pin stripe or tape to put the black back on.

Now that is a great idea. But only am gonna do the headlights not the whole outer portion. Or maybe can take it to one of those places that does that wrap for vehicles and they would just wrap that part??? Hmmmmm!!
