Roof Marker Lights
My roof lights are not working, are they suppose to come on with the parking lights and the rest of the lights? Possible causes, fuse, headlight switch, etc.
Thank you

Re: Roof Marker Lights
I believe that's a yes and a yes (with parking only and with headlights too) - but hopefully someone can confirm the "with parking lights" part - I'm not 100% certain on that one. If they didn't, I'd wire them to do so anyway . I'd check fuses, but my first guess would be the switch. Were they working before?

Re: Roof Marker Lights
Never checked the function of the lights before I tore it down. Wiring is all there and I have new lenses and gaskets. Thanks

My '72 C30 cab lights work with the park lights and the headlights. LockDoc

Re: Roof Marker Lights
My 68 has a brown wire that plugs into the fuse box.

Re: Roof Marker Lights
With parking and headlights is correct. Must be a cut in the wire if the brown wire is connected.

Re: Roof Marker Lights
The brown wire will run down the left A post from the roof and come out near the bottom of the dash.

This is from the Factory Assembly Manual. The manual is available on CD and has a search feature. Good reference material..... LockDoc

Works good. You do have to think about the search words you use. I typed in Clearance lights, no go, typed in just lights and some stuff came up but not this, then typed in lamp and bingo! (see #1 in the illustration).... LockDoc

Re: Roof Marker Lights
The cables from my roof light goes back on the roof and down inside the cab where the gas lock is located. Then it goes on the floor to the switch. I need to draw new harness, but the old one is stuck. Is it possible to lineup new cables like the factory assembly manual? Don't I need to drill some holes then? What's your suggestion?

Re: Roof Marker Lights
Update, problem solved! While assembling the dash I apparently knocked the ground wire and clip off the lower dash. Thank you for the replies. Thanks for the manual pic lockdoc, I had the manual on the seat next to me but didn't think to use it.

No problem, Glad you got it figured out. I wouldn't have thought about that ground clip affecting the cab lights. Good find...... LockDoc
