radiator coolant overflow container placement
I see pics of engines bays with clean looking overflow jugs for coolant tucked in high on the inner fender.
I ordered a coolant overflow jug from LMC. got this massive square jug with a metal basket cage looking thing.....where the heck would that fit? I see some nice applications on this site. Where do you guys get your coolant jugs and brackets? Thanks |

Re: radiator coolant overflow container placement
I am pleased with this aftermarket overflow container
It is a Dorman 603-001 Coolant Reservoir Bottle, with a Dorman HELP! 82590 Coolant Cap added separately. Two holes drilled in the support frame on the radiator support (Right side top, and the middle bottom hole), and one standoff block of about 1" or so for the left top hole, with a bolt and nut going through the standoff and the radiator support there.

Here's mine. This is a 69 Camaro windshield washer jug and bracket.

Re: radiator coolant overflow container placement
I used a '72 windshield washer container and bracket that I bought right here on the parts board. It looks exactly like the washer container I already had because it is! I mounted it on the vertical riser on the core support. It's in the background on the pic...

Re: radiator coolant overflow container placement
Don't have pics in the computer but I also used a w/s washer jug and bracket for an overflow. Mounted it on the right side fender just aft of the battery. Could not put it on the left side because that area holds a later model plastic "Tool Box" from the 95-2000 style trucks. That comes in VERY handy for oil check rag, spare fan belt, qt. of oil, couple wrenches.
Be advised if you add a overflow jug be sure you change your radiator cap to the recovery / closed system style cap. Normal cap will not allow the radiator fluid to flow back and forth. Without the closed cap it will just be a catch/puke bottle.
