Looking for some help.. DF2 mirror head

Mine are original to the truck. Drivers side glass is cracked and rubber seal is in bad shape. These are the ones that the arm goes through the mirror and attached behind the glass. There are just 4 attachment heads on the back side of the mirror. My local parts store sells a replacement head but mounting point is on outside back of mirror like older ones. So my question is... any chance the end of my arm is tapped to accept a bolt for the style that mounts exterior ?? I'll post pics. Thanks
