A/C Vents
I noticed that this vent has a broken actuator and was wondering what it does and can I fix it?
The second photo is the Vent on the passengers side, Is that It's only function? and can I cover the hole? Next photo is a wire that runs along the drivers side with the speaker and a orange & white wire that I think goes to the rear lights. Does anyone know what the black wire is for? It wasn't connected to anything. |

Re: A/C Vents
Here is a link to a thread about the in cab part of the AC system. Some of the pics are missing due to the photobucket money grab attempt.
The Passenger side vent in an AC truck serves at the Max Air recirculate air source. Don't cover. No clue on wire in pic #3. |

Re: A/C Vents
There is a vacuum actuator inside the box. I looked all over for the replacement for my 77 with no success. The spot weld had broken and it was allowing heater air to flow into the cab. I resorted to JB Weld which worked great. The heater box has to come out to get to it.

Re: A/C Vents
So If I don't use the heater in my truck can I pull the door closed and leave it that way or do I push it in towards the front of the truck? Never Mind
I found this link this morning and ordered the little clips to fix the door. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=377851 They only cost a little over a dollar a piece, but shipping is 18.00 so I got 5 If anyone needs one. I found out the door allows the Air or Heat to come out on the floor and since I don't use the heater in Florida I may fix the door to not open to the floor. A/C Kick Plate: Where on the bracket does the Spring hook? The photo Isn't to clear on the right side. I don't see a hole for it to hook.
