87 gmc truck, plugged
Hi, just got my truck back from restoration. I found the (emission) system plugged at both side of the engine with hoses and spark plugs. How can I rectify it.
Thanks Picture attached

Re: 87 gmc truck, plugged
Are you asking how to fix that?
A) If emissions are not a concern, remove and plug holes in manifold. B) If emissions are a concern, source stock replacement parts of smog pump, diverter valve and all related plumbing and hook it all up.

Emissions are not a concern, I will do that, Do you know the bolt size to fit the holes in the manifold?

Re: 87 gmc truck, plugged
I'm thinking Home Depot or Lowe's isn't an option for OP...

Not option, but I’ll take care of it.

Re: 87 gmc truck, plugged
I think you will need a "pipe thread" plug for that. Maybe 1/4 NPT. At one time, most parts stores kept the various size brass plugs in stock just for that purpose. Since now it is considered emissions tampering, they have gone the way of "test pipes" for catalytic converters. Should be able to source them from a plumbing supply store. Try to find brass as it is preferred over steel. If you have to use steel, use plenty of anti seize on the threads.
