Re: Drum Brakes pull left when hot only
Update: driver shoes were wasted, I bought new ones, wheel cylinders and brake hoses (cheap prices for centric), well upon changing shoes on left front I found the leading drum return spring was bent at the end where the shoe goes in. Put it all together and it appears ok. Driving for a few days to the office and back will decide. I believe the spring was allowing the leading shoe to drag a bit forcing the trailing shoe against the drum, or I had a wheel cylinder that would hang up or hose, either way those shoes were smoked. I’ll report back if it’s fixed or not now.

Re: Drum Brakes pull left when hot only
Thank you for the progress you are sharing. I am having the same issue with my '69. On a previously owned '69 3/4 I had the issue as well and discovered by brake hoses had swelled and while the brakes would work fine for the first couple of stops, as they got hotter, the drivers side would lock up easy and pull the wheel hard. In my case, the hose would allow the fluid thru when applying brakes, but would not let the fluid return, thus causing binding and wear issues. interested in hearing your experience. By the way, what rim/tire combo are you running? 8, 6, or 5 lug?

No fluid loss, pedal is fine now. I'll report back on it. The rims are 15x8 6-lug disc brake non-rally steelies (on my drum truck).

SOLVED: Drum Brakes pull left when hot only
Solved, brakes are great now! All good, but damn I got lucky that this popped off going into the driveway at work, I could leave it and go back the next day and fix it.
