Re: changing bed from metal to wood

You would need front bed panel 3-center cross sills 1-rear cross sills and a couple of reinforcement strips then your wood, bed strips and bolts

Google Show Beds or Wood Show Beds or something like that. Saw it on Stacy Davids GEARZE show. It isa woodbed that you can remove to haul.stuff and then reinstall. It looks real good with stainless strips and everything. It really looks better than you think it would.

Re: changing bed from metal to wood

You really don't need the entire front panel. There is a weld in "L Channel" available for the front panel. You will also need the rear sill, I forget the proper name, but it's the one right under tail gate. I'VE never seen these included in the kits. Mar-k, I think that's the name, outta ok city are real good kits. Get the kit with all holes drilled. Just looked and correct rear sill is in kit, front channel is not.

Re: changing bed from metal to wood

All the wood and SS strips that most vendors sale Come from Mar-k. Brothers and other vendors get there product from them.
All the above info is correct. I converted to wood over last winter.
Make sure to get nylon nuts instead of the lock nuts.
Wood expand and contracts a lot.
Mar-K has full blown instructions for the whole job. Study up.
