How to remove trim under back glass?Cab corner question?
I have been stripping my 87 Silverado down for paint. How do I get to the fasteners that hold the silver rear cab molding that wraps around the door pillar under the back glass.I can't see no way from inside to take nuts off of the fasteners that hold the trim.
My cab corners are gonna get replaced.I can't look down from the inside behind the seat to see how bad they are.I have been able to see down there working on 67-72 c10's.Are they anything else I can remove to see down there? Last edited by 72farmer; 01-06-2018 at 10:40 AM. |

The corners slide towards the back. The long section will come off by pushing down with a wide blade or scraper on the back bottom, on the back side, hooking the bottom of the "C".

The corners are held on with a "trim clip" that has a stud and nut holding the corner in place. I'm not sure you would get the corner off without removing the little nut, without wreaking the corner.

Re: How to remove trim under back glass?Cab corner question?
Take a 1/4” ratchet with a long 10mm socket. If you reach up into the corner pocket area you need to extend your arm about 10” up into it to access the nut-then you can take one corner trim off. Donthe same for the other corner. Next, gently push the long trim from one side of the truck towards the other-then walk to the ither side and the grab hold of the trim and slowly pull the trim off the back.
