Re: trying to decide on center console

cloth doesn't work well on compound curves, matt works better to get into depressions and around curves
typically even the matt needs to be torn into pieces, tearing gives an uneven edge that blends
while tearing all 4 sides works best i found that cutting with a razor knife into strips and tearing the strips was good enough
the tighter the curve the smaller you want to make the pieces

Both Ogre and dsraven, Thanks so very much for all this information, please keep providing it. I'm going to attempt the fiberglass in the next week or two...

Re: trying to decide on center console

Well the fiberglass didn't go as well as I hoped, both Ogre and dsraven make it look so easy! So I did wood and covered it! The console lid isn't screwed down yet so it's sitting up just a little...

The cane holder is a nice touch too

Re: trying to decide on center console

A lot of local places have ones similar to some of these https://www.amazon.com/Bench-Seat-Co...&node=15735471 I didn't buy one for my truck back when as I was pretty tight for money when I made that wood one after dumping my coffee for the who know's how many times. The good thing about most of these is that they are removable easy enough if you need to ride three in the seat.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
