Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
Thanks for the offer, but I think if I go slider, it'll probably be the factory two-pane style.

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
i wouldnt want a 2 pane. there not as good of window as the single pane. not as good of lock or seal imo.

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
My dilemma is that I think a plain window looks better, and is cheaper for me because I already have one.
On the other hand, my best friend has a 1996 F150 shortbox, with a two pane slider in it. I have fond memories of driving around in his field in the truck, sitting in the bed, with the slider open, so he and I can talk while driving. Also, his cab stays cooler with the window open.

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
I actually like a solid window the best as well but if I was going with a slider I would do the single sliding pane.

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
yeah i like that about a slider. having trucks with both double and single though give me a single. i can break into a double pane with a pocket knife and not damage it. done it on a s10 due to keys locked up. plus like said there not as solid at all. rather have solid over double pane.

lots of people tell me they like a slider because they need to use them, but they never do

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
I like to go to Fort Worth and Dallas sometimes so for me, its solid rear window. There are a lot of thieves there in some places. And the slider makes it real easy for em. Plus how often are you really gonna use that thing. I barely ever used mine when I had one.

i like a slider plus if a thief wants in your truck they will get into it, its not like its hard to get in a wing window

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
So from you slider window guys, I'm hearing a general consensus that I should get a single pane. Do you have a preferred source to buy those from, with good quality and a reasonable price?

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
I have a slider in my 84' and it rattles like crazy. Very annoying. I have a solid glass for it to replace but im sure there are ways to tighten up the slider. They aren't very hard to break into, but neither is a wing window either. Had mine broke into in my driveway and I drove it for about 30 minutes before I realized my stereo was missing.

Will a standard rubber seal work with a slider?
MY 1972 k10 came with a factory slider. I have it. I’m trying to match my spid as close as possible. |

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
I vote slider back window all the way! I love mine! It has so many uses.
I probably wouldn't buy a truck without one. If your going to use your truck for what it was intended for, you can't go wrong with the slider. Gavin

Re: Opinions Please: Plain Rear Window or Slider?
I vote for slider. Its gives you options. Solid is no options. However if you live in a crime susceptible area and you park outside, especially at night, a slider is an easy way in.
