Was that you that posted about the shortbed s10 flip, by dropping the rear end, cutting off X from the rear of the frame and flipping it then welding it back on.

Also I was looking didn't realize you are close, I'm about 1.5 hours away from you, my Aunt actually lives in E-Town. I visit there because of working in corrections.

So it's been a while since I was posting anything so I took the hood off and shaped a couple pics of the engine.

Also in pa. Even though my truck came pretty much as a whole, i still had to make/replace everything anyway so the demo was pretty much all the way done for you. My advice is chip away little by little and have fun with it. Quit working on it each day when you've made some progress and are happy with what you did,instead of getting sick of it and not wanting to go back to it the next day. My regret on my truck is not redoing the whole cab floor, didnt use the seat frame and floor support anyway.

Yes there is going to be a lot of body work, I was actually thinking of having a friend tackle the bulk of the cab and I will hit the simpler things, like getting the engine running, and stretching the frame and new body and cab mounts. I think I solved my power source provlem. I can run a sub pannel off my generator for all,the power I need to run my MIG, it's a 6500 w 30 amp I will just fire it up when I need it.

I think I already know the answer to this but kinda looking for advice, Should I rebuild/ overhaul my 350 SB, I don't have a lot of history on the engine, I know what my gut is saying and that's to overhaul the entire engine top to bottom, do a 30 over and it's basically brand new. Anyones thoughts are welcome.

Id ask the person you bought it from. If anything you could pop the valve covers off and the heads off to see how it all looks. Drop the oil pan too maybe.

Is the cab mounted? If it is and the engine mounted, then the engine is mounted way too far forward. To fit everything needed and have room for radiator the engine should set back close enough to the firewall that the back of the passenger side valve cover should be directly below the face of the firewall.

looks like it has s10 v8 swap mounts installed. in an s10, you need the v8 swap mounts because the engine mount location on a sbc is forward about 5 inches from where it is on a 4.3 S10. if you dont move it forward on an s10 it will not fit, it would hit the firewall of the S10. luckily you dont have an s10 cab any more.

you can just take the swap mounts off an it will move the engine back about 5 inches. or you can flip the swap mounts side to side and they will move the engine back an additional (the first 5 plus some more) 4 inches, right up against the firewall if you want.

No the body is not mounted to the chassis yet it's just sitting on top of the frame rails right now. The chassis will need to be stretched the extra 11 inches to the 116" wheel base, I will pull the valve covers off and take a look at the rockers and other top end mechanicals, I do have a brand new manifold for the engine. I will be taking the body over to a guy I have know for almost 20 years he is really good at restoration especially on old vehicles, he owns several old camaro's early 60 to mid. I plan on working right along side of him during the restoration of this beauty.

I'm thinking, replace entire firewall in one piece, and then start filling in with the patch pannels, I have all of them. Minus the new firewall. I think I will start with the disassembly of the body and get it over to the shop. Roll the chassis in the garage and pull the motor and trans, and get to working on the frame.
