Cool hood latch modifications???

ok, i really want to change my hood so that it is like newer cars. i want to pull the hood button inside, then have the hood open a little and move a tab under the hood. i have a 69 gmc so now i have the big lever on the driver side hole of the grill. i dont want that there. is there anybody that has done this? what kind of car did you get the popper and latch and everything from? thanks, Ben

buy a cable and run it to that latch to where it pulls it? If you want that lever completely deleted it sounds like you'll be doing some custom fabbing...

Someone posted a while back about a remote latch kit from J. C. Whitney, and said it did the job. There were a couple other alternatives mentioned also, but I can't remember the details. This is one of those questions where having the Search function available again is going to be a big plus in the future.

In the process.... will post pics !

This is my second atempt. One word of advice though, DO NOT remove the stock lever UNTIL you are certain the new cable pull mod is working right !! What a pain in the a** !!!!
