Very cool. Looks like a bit of snow on the windshield in that last picture.

Re: 1967 GMC Wide side short bed 4x4
I see the build sheet shows no radio option. Could have been dealer installed. Looks to me the radio hole has been altered. If it were me I would source a radio block off plate in Fawn Beige and install that. I bought a Bluetooth speaker and stream music from my phone. Sound is great.

You need to rip out that old v6 install an LS, 24" wheels with low profile tires, massive lift and original spare lol JK. Keep that thing just the way it is and drive the wheels off of it. Nice score I'm jealous.

Re: 1967 GMC Wide side short bed 4x4
Wow, thanks for the heads-up on that. I did not see the radio delete on the build sheet but now that you mention it there is no antenna or hole in the cowl for base and mast. The additional hole in the dash for the aftermarket radio was really the only thing I noticed that was out of place. When I flew up to Fairbanks to purchase the truck. I had to drive it from North pole to Fairbanks, about 15 miles to the vehicle transport company. I did not have time to look through the truck but I noticed the other west coast mirror in the glovebox so hopefully the delete cover is there as well.If not do you have one?

Radio delete plates come up for sale on here from time to time ,look on the parts for sale section . How did you find this cool old truck ? What are your plans for it ? I hope you keep it original but it is yours to do as you please .

Re: 1967 GMC Wide side short bed 4x4
I found the truck on craigslist. It had been listed for several weeks. I think people were more interested in getting it for cheap than checking into what it was first. I gave the man exactly what he was asking and based on the price I don't think he knew what he had. I may be wrong I don't know for sure but he never mentioned anything about its original condition or low production #s and I didn't offer the information. He only owned it for 4 months and never drove it or titled it in his name. It was delivered to him by a young 20-year old that I don't think owned it for very long either due to the fact that it still maintains the original bias ply tires and it hasn't been accessorized with "the vision of a young 20 somethings idea of what a cool truck should look like". I reached out to him as his name and address was on the title and he stated that he purchased it from the original owner's widow. As for the future of this truck, I can assure everyone that it will not be a resto-mod in any form I will either restore to new condition or clean up and keep original patina. both have there pros and cons. I'm an old body fender man so I'm capable of going either way. The problem I have with a full on restore is they become to nice to drive. (i like to dive the old trucks). the other side of that is this truck really is a great candidate for concourse restore and put on display in someone's collection IMO. My opinion is based on 35 years as a professional body fender tech. My father was a body fender man so I've been around cars and trucks my whole life.

Re: 1967 GMC Wide side short bed 4x4
As a body guy you should be able to massage some of the bruises out. Maybe a wet sand and buff, then drive the wheels off.
Great buy and keep us informed on the progress. I will keep an eye out for a Fawn block-off plate.
