Wild idea
I have access to a 1981 c10 as a donor truck. I was thinking instead of swapping the power steering, front and rear ends into my 65 c10 maybe it would be easier to fit my 65 onto the 81 frame. Anybody have any insight in how difficult that may be?

Re: Wild idea
I believe that your body will sit high on that frame. It will look like a 4x4

Re: Wild idea
I think the fame kicks up higher in the rear for the 1973+ models, and not to mention changing most if not all body mout locations. I think it raises the body 3-4 inches over stock by the time your done.

Re: Wild idea
This question has been asked many, many, many times and I still will try and discourage doing this swap. There is absolutely no benefit to all the work, and it IS and LOT of work. Take a look at this thread.

Re: Wild idea
Thanks Captinfab. i have always valued and appreciated your knowledge and insight regarding these trucks. I just thought that by changing the cab mounts was a lot easier and less expensive than retrofitting newer front end powersteering upgrade tank reolacement etc.
