LS swap Headers in 4x4?
I'm sure its been asked somewhere before but I kind find any information on headers for a 4wd truck all i seem to be able to find is headers that fit c10 2wd etc.
The truck is 90 square body suburban (with 4 inch suspension and 1 inch body if that matters) LQ4 6.0 and 4L80e trans, so far I've seen the schoenfield headers just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them or similar brands and what they thought.

Re: LS swap Headers in 4x4?
I looked at Schoenfeld and brp hot rod stuff, but since I'm cheap i went with speed engineering vband ls swap headers. They fit pretty good on my 77 k25 chassis. They cleared the frame rails, a little close to the block on the pass. side, and I had to trim the "ears" off the 4l80e housing.
It looks like I can run my 2.5" exhaust pipe tucked up high next to the frame rails. Im using a column shift out of my 87 Jimmy, along with a lengthen shifter rod. It works pretty good and still clears the exhaust pipe, its tough to get first but it just might need some adjusting. |

Re: LS swap Headers in 4x4?
Doug Thorley makes some nice LS swap headers for 4x4 K5's. I have some the THY-324Y-C headers for sale locally, but they are for 67-72. Could work, but the THY-323Y-C part number cover K5's through 87.

Re: LS swap Headers in 4x4?
I used the Schoenfeld’s 1302-LS1’s. I’m running a 4L60E and did run into some issues where the collector on the drivers side rubbed up against the shift shaft that comes out of the case.
Had a local shop “redirect” the collector and I switched out the shift shaft to the non-NSS type. All clearance issues gone now. I then got the Lokar ACA1800 shift linkage kit, made some slight tweaks to the rod and voila!! Also had the headers ceramic coated locally for about $190. Last edited by LS-K; 03-23-2018 at 04:03 AM.
