Question about the Aux battery

Does the aux battery sit a little higher up than the regular battery? I'm trying to install an aux battery tray and the only way all four corners are touching sheet metal is to have it about an inch higher than the regular battery tray. Anyone know? Thanks.

Re: Question about the Aux battery

The rad support should have holes that align w 3/4 holes in the tray iirc. Mine do sit slightly higher than the pass side battery. The windshield washer bracket is unique to aux battery trucks and differs from typical washer bracket in shape and location: the aux battery washer bracket is installed on the pass side fender. The volt regulator mounts to the outer side of the aux tray, which should have three pre-existing holes.

Re: Question about the Aux battery

I don't know if they sit any higher, but I have the bigger optional T60 battery in there and it fits fine and doesn't come near the hood. For what that's worth.

Here's what it looked like during original teardown. Note the position of the upper bolt relative to the rad outlet and compare to yours!
