Re: WTB: Parchment Door Escutcheons for '71
I asked the same question about 4 or 5 months ago and no one responded, parchment escutcheons must be fairly scarce. I ended up doing a little surgery on some after market escutcheons and it worked out ok.

I don’t mean to hijack this thread but what do you mean by “surgery “? I’m in the same predicament with finding some and considered just getting some saddle colored aftermarket ones and dying them parchment.

I have both saddle and parchment aftermarket ones...would love to see the surgery you did too.

Re: WTB: Parchment Door Escutcheons for '71
My original escutcheon is the one on the left in the picture. As you can see, the aftermarket escutcheon is much thicker(or taller). You also most likely notice that it also is not a perfect color match. What I did was to carefully grind the bottom of the aftermarket escutcheon on my bench grinder. The ground surface sits against the door panel and you can't tell it's been thinned down if you grind it evenly. When I put my handles back on, the escutcheon is held tight to the panel and both the door and window handles operated correctly. I am using aftermarket door panels which are junk compared to the originals, however the panel and escutcheon color match was exceptable to me. If you zoom on the other picture, you can see the door panel and escutcheon. I tried to rotate the second picture but had no luck.

Where did you purchase the aftermarket parchment escutcheons if you don’t mind my asking?

Same. LMC is the only place that has the parchment that i can see. But wonder if it's best to find decent OE ones and paint them...
