Interior lights stuck on
My 89 Suburban's interior lights won't shut off. I tried slamming all the doors, messing with the door switches on every door but nothing seems to work except removing the wire from the fuse block. Also the rear passenger doors have never operated the interior lights.
Not sure where the issue is, but hitting a really rough road usually shuts them off temporarily before some more bumps makes them come back on. I'm thinking there is an intermittent short somewhere, but don't know where to look. Any suggestions?

Re: Interior lights stuck on
Turn the headlight switch knob to the right a little.

Re: Interior lights stuck on
Forgot to mention, it doesn't matter where the dimmer knob is. Turning it all the way down doesn't turn off the interior lights.

Re: Interior lights stuck on
Maybe just try a new headlight switch?

Re: Interior lights stuck on
I'd be searching for a necked or pinched wire...the door switches make the ground side of the wire circuit...if one of those wires is pinched or missing some jacket and grounded, the light will stay on....^^^but could also be the switch^^^

Re: Interior lights stuck on
That's what I was thinking. Was hoping someone on here had the same problem and there was a 'trouble' spot.

Re: Interior lights stuck on
Yea, I'd check out the pin switches. Maybe change them out to new ones. I think they are reversed grounded or something. Just a little strange as I recall.
