I got Blazed last night

I've been Blazer hunting for a short while, found a decent 77 2wd this weekend. Needs some body work, looks like I'm going to learn how to paint. Worked on the engine last night (350 w/ a Quadrajet). I'll rebuild the carb & give it a tune up this weekend, ought to get it running smooth.

See if that picture works.
A cool history on the Blazer. A couple years ago a good friend of mine was looking for one. The mom of one of my wife's best friends was selling hers. She wanted too much & he didn't have enough. Saturday when we pulled up to the guy's house, my wife recognized it immediately. He said he bought it a couple years ago from a lady who had owned it for 20 years. That's it!
My wife grew up in this truck, even learned how to drive in it.
Anyways, this one is staying mild, I need it for a daily. Just need to get the engine running good, fix a few minor things, & get the paint & body looking good so I can park it near my house.
More pics to come.

Good looking Blazer. Of course I'm rather partial to 77's and Blazer so my opinion may not count much :p

You may not like the woodgrain interior, but it is coming back in popularity on restored style trucks. My Cheyenne has the same trim on the doors, but a black dash bezel. You might try changeing the bezel out and see if that tones it down enough for you.

At least you didn't get that wonderful plaid vinyl in it....

I'm inspired to fix this one up in the style of yours. I'd like to replace all the exterior trim when I get around to painting it. Find any good sources?

I found one online in OKC for $2500 last week when I was looking. Can't remember which site, I think the classic car part of traderonline.com.

Wow that's a nice compliment. Trim sources No not really. You can get all of it from LMC, or Goodmark. Of course if you want the nice "mustard" colored insert, you will have to paint that in. I was not pleased with the look of the LMC pieces that I ordered, and they certainly didn't match what I had.

If I find a good source I'll let you know...

Jeff, I talked to CaptKaos about yours on Saturday. If you weren't so damn far away I would possibly consider it. Of course, I could always hook the trailer back up and go on another road trip.

What are you waiting for then?

I wonder why your 77 has low back buckets when mine has the high back buckets?

LOL, I can do without the mustard color, although that's what I have now. All the existing trim has screws in it, done after the adhesive failed. I might try Goodmark since I need some new body panels.

Jeff, he was asking $2500, I paid $2000. I know he bought it 2 years ago for $1800 or $1900. The tranny was supposedly rebuilt, but it doesn't kick down into passing gear. It's a 350/350 combo. Everything else works as far as I've been able to tell. Just a lot of dings and rust spots.
