I'm not even sure how you could do that if you tried. Poor guy!

That was funny. Nope, but it can do a normal burnout: https://youtu.be/An3NhSvO9-M?t=122

Re: Can Your Truck Burn Out ?

After destroying a 57 bel air rear end with wheel hop in my youth (granted, that was a while ago), the only thing I burn these days is my oil, a little bit at a time. I can't stop laughing about the bed board comment - that was the same thing I thought when I saw it....

Re: Can Your Truck Burn Out ?

I wouldn't know. Never saw any sense in burnouts, so never tried. My K2500 gives a scirch hitting second when I get on it, though, with posi rear too.

My dad's Maverick with a 6 could do a burnout if I held the front brakes, but I'm not sure what that proved... It's not like he had slicks on it and not like I was at the track. I guess I was a slow learner, referring to the little admission above about the 57 Bel Air's rear end. A subsequent burnout destroyed the spider gears in the non-posi weak rear JUST enough to lose all fwd gearing. But that did not mean I couldn't drive it home in reverse (not a short distance either) after posing with it for the rest of the night after the football game until the last person left the parking lot. So embarrassing. But it all worked out. Thank goodness for sparsely travelled country roads in Indiana.

What's with the people walking around in front of those vehicles, especially the kid? Got no fetchin' up, or what? I've seen people die, standing in front of dragsters that lost brakes during burnouts and getting run over.

This is truly hilarious, I feel like I had to do something equally goofy, but I cant recall at the moment, but I bet I could ask my brother and he would remember what I did! Thanks Jocko

Re: Can Your Truck Burn Out ?

My truck can do burnouts if I really try, but I rarely try. That guy should probably have done a little bit of preventative maintenance on his truck.
My mustang GT has burnout mode. I've never actually used it. It also has acceleration timers (with a drag strip christmas tree) and an accelerometer. Sometime I wish my older vehicles had that much technology, but most of the time I just embrace the simplicity and character of old cars as they were designed.

This is how I feel also. My Dirty-Max will destroy back tires if I see fit, but it is just to quiet and civilized. On the other hand, nothing beats the sound of loud exhaust while your secondaries are being feathered!
