LS2 AC Compressor bracket Recommendation

Hey gang,
I'm looking for a recommendation for an AC Compressor bracket for my LS swap.

1976 Suburban with Factory Front AC
Adding a rear unit from a donor
2008 6.0 Trailblazer SS Engine with carb

I'm looking at the Holley Kit because it seems well designed and plug and play.

Dirty Dingo makes a bracket but there seems to be some issues.

Anyone got a recommendation?

Thanks!
Nick

Re: LS2 AC Compressor bracket Recommendation

I used the holley bracket and it worked perfectly, a couple of buddies went dirty dingo because it was cheaper and both required some minor work to get the pulleys to line up perfectly. Stay away from the cheap no name crap on ebay, they are terrible.

One thing that's not clear on the Holley stuff is what *exactly you need.
They sell the bracket, then the "model specific kit", then the pulley, then the tensioner, etc.

what did you end up going with?

Re: LS2 AC Compressor bracket Recommendation

I just called Holley for a recommendation, and the guy tried to convince me to source a S10 Bracket and use R4 as he did on his car.

Even sent me the link: http://www.maliburacing.com/forum/vi...p?f=34&t=79059

I kind of have to say it's pretty awesome to have a tech really try and help solve problems not just sell parts.

Funny but it makes me want to buy the Holley stuff more than I did!

Only thing about the Link the guy sent was that it's for an R4 style compressor and I thing I want to use the newer Sanden SD7 which should work a lot better for the large amount of air I want to cool.

However, it's more money. So I need to think on it.

Re: LS2 AC Compressor bracket Recommendation

It's been 6 or 7 years since I did mine, but I believe there is the main compressor bracket, then a seperate bracket that is speceific to whether you have truck/camaro/vette accessories (this is a seperate part number), then you need one idler pulley and a tensioner. If you look on Holley's website for the bracket there should be a link to a fitment guide pdf that explains what parts you need.
