WTB rear speed warning tin
Hello all,
I am currently on the hunt for a rear tin for a speed warning cluster. No home made versions please. Hopefully in restorable condition It does not matter if it is tach or non tach. I can add the tach hole. Let me know whats out there. Also on the market for select speed warning parts. mainly bigger thin gear and blue top gear. The rest of the parts never break and I have drawers full. Thank you in advance, Take care, Tom

Re: WTB rear speed warning tin
Tom I have a Speed warning that is also missing gears. I am pretty sure that I can model the gears if I have samples and then they can be 3D printed. I can get carbon fibre reinforced nylon printed. I know Chewy here has a complete one that we have discussed using for a sample. I am a decent 3D modeller as an Engineering Technologist and can probably get something suitable within a couple revisions. I can test results on my own cluster.

Can you model one(s) with a broken tooth or does it have to be a nice one to start with. You do know that the two large gears, the ones that usually break, are different thicknesses, correct? What do you need from me? I am not 100% sure I have a set that is not broken. Feel free to PM me to discuss. I am not opposed to some investment as long as there is a return. Take care, Tom

Re: WTB rear speed warning tin
Hey Tom, what's the difference. The instrument panel that I need rebuilt is a standard TACH tin. I do have extra tins, so I will have to look. LMK

2 things are different for a speed warning rear tin. First is the hole for the cable. It will be near where the speedometer mounts to the tin. The cable clips into this hole. IT is critical that it is in the exact factory position or it will bind the gears in the speedometer head and break them. This is why I say "no home made ones". The other difference is the speed warning needs the ground stud. The ground stud prevents the wire hooked to the speedometer from grounding to the tin. If this wire makes contact with the tin, it will make the buzzer sound constantly. Same reason why they use plastic screws to hold the face on the speedometer. Hope this helps and hope you have one as it will help me with your build. Thank you, Tom
