Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

just bought both tail light and reverse light gaskets from Rock Auto (you'd be amazed at the parts that are still available there) and although they didn't mention manufacturer on the web page, they were Soff Seal brand.

Same as the ebay link above except they are $3.01 plus shipping at Rock Auto

Always get the best answers here. Thanks everyone. I ended up ordering a set from Wes at Classic Heartbeat.

Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

Ended up ordering soft seal from Jegs. And they are superior to any others I have seen.

Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

Why not just use some foam with adhesive from home depot and make it stay on the housing? Way cheaper.

Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

The gaskets I’ve previously bought recently were extremely thin. And tore when installing. Particularly around screw holes. Had ordered from Wes prior to seeing the post showing the soft seal gaskets. So I ordered a set of soft seals from Jegs. They are a lot thicker and made out of a much sturdier material. Would have done the do it yourself Home Depot route. But have a lot going on lately so the easy way out was to order a set. Will use double sided tape when I do install them. The ones I ordered from Wes weren’t as sturdy as I thought they would be. Thus the reason for the Jegs order.

Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

Thanks, that's what I was wondering, but didn't want to assume. I need to get some. Were they as cheap as Rock Auto?

Re: Tail Light Lens Gaskets

They were $4.69 per pair. But as usual the shipping is killer. $7 I would guess it would be comparable. They don’t say what brand they are selling at Rock Auto. Although I have purchased a number of parts from Rock Auto in the past. But the soft seal ones are the ones you want to buy.

I have just gotten my order from Rock-Auto as it happens with the rear seals and they were indeed "Soff Seal" brand (with gmk goodmark part numbers gm4143845674P for the brake/turn gaskets and GMK4143847674P for the reverse seals.
