Where can I buy a 230 oil pan?
What company sells repop/replacement oil pans that fit a 65 GMC w/ a 230? I can't find em anywhere.
When I tried (unsuccessfully) to address my oil leak, I discovered the old oil pan bolt holes had all been over torqued over the years and were concave. I tried to hammer em flat but don't think I did that good of a job. There were also a few dents, and it seemed like the pan was slightly twisted. I am thinking this time I just pull the whole engine, but if I do that I want to replace the pan with one that has a better chance of sealing well. Who sells them? I can't find one anywhere.

Thanks I'll check that out. Anyone else know of anywhere? Seems like something that *someone* would be making.

Re: Where can I buy a 230 oil pan?
I had a similar issue (rust hole in the pan) and couldn't find anyone selling a replacement. I ended up finding a seized early 70s 250 locally and swapped the pan and sump from the 250. The bolt pattern is the same, but the belly of the pan is a different shape, so you'll need the pan and the sump if you do this swap.

Re: Where can I buy a 230 oil pan?
I straighten those dimples with a i/4" screw or bolt with a socket and nut on the opposite side. I use Permatex silicone and some swear by the Right Stuff but it is more expensive.
I'll need to pull mine too for a re-ring and seal renew. Compression isn't bad and it runs good but doesn't smell so good. Valve seals or oil rings or combination of both? I have not seen it smoke after deceleration. ' |

Re: Where can I buy a 230 oil pan?
The 12bolt site has some used ones but says they could be rusty, dented, etc, and are well over $100, so I don't think I'll go that way just yet. Maybe mine is salvageable with some more work and more RTV.
Still hoping someone has found a place selling repops.
