Track Bar Bushing Question

I am replacing the bushings in the Track Bar on my truck. I removed the Track bar and on one end the metal sleeve on the inside of the bushing is stuck on the bolt. I would prefer to use the new sleeve that came with the bushings, but will reuse the old one if I have too.

Any thoughts on how I can get this sleeve off the bolt without damaging anything else? Or should I just reuse the old sleeve?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Track Bar Bushing Question

Heat it and get it spinning with a pipe wrench. Before you make the decision on just reusing it check the size to make sure it is the same as the new one. Also your new bushing may have a washer that goes on both sides.

Jimmy,

Thank You! I just tried your suggestion and it worked like a charm. Took less than 5 minutes to get the sleeve off. I really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Darien

Re: Track Bar Bushing Question

Does anyone know the size of the upper bolt for the track bar?

Re: Track Bar Bushing Question

I think it is 5/8-11 about 2 1/2" or so long. Glad the suggestion worked out.
