Square 6.5's in the kick panel..anyone done it?
I'm NOT talking about the gecko-eyed plastic panels from Qlogic or similar. Iv'e been eyeballing my factory kick panels (85 K20) while retrofitting my Vintage Air and it sure looks like there is room for a set of 6's. Just not sure whats behind the panel? I really like the prospect of having the speakers out of the way and only protruding the depth of the trim ring (3/4").

Here is a post that I did years ago with my trucks door PANELS. Not the lower part of the door. IMO, this is the best way to go about speakers. You can swap door panels later on and go back to pure stock. They are higher and pointed more towards the ears than the speakers in the kick panels.
