79 cheyenne with bucket seats?
I am looking at a 1979 Cheyenne 4x4 that has been in the family since the truck was 2 or 3 years old. When this family got it, it had bucket seats and console. They look just like the ones found in a blazer, and look period correct. The family is sure the truck had these from the factory, but the options list in the glove box don't list anything to make me believe they weren't added before this family got it. Would factor buckets be listed on the options list in the glove box?
Thanks. |

I don't know if that option has a number on the SPID, but buckets seats with a Blazer/Suburban console was definitely an option on pickups. Due to different floor pans between the trucks and SUV's, the mounting hardware is unique and you see those pieces come up for sale here occasionally.

Re: 79 cheyenne with bucket seats?
Thank you. I know that they were an option, but I think it would say something in the glovebox if they were factory. This one doesn't have anything about seats on the options list at all.
Thanks again. |

Re: 79 cheyenne with bucket seats?
Ok I misunderstood you. Best way to tell for sure, short of the glovebox info you asked about, pull a seat and sill plate and seat belt base and peel the carpet back. You'll be able to tell if the bucket seat brackets are OEM or if someone added them later.
