Older Dolphin Speedometer Setup (8 Dip Switch)

I was so excited that my project truck came with a brand new set of Dolphin gauges until I found out the were 10 or 12 year old new

The speedometer I have has 8 dip switches on the back for calibration and all the instructions I can find have 9 dip switches. I am tied into the VSS wire on the 4L60E trans and as soon as I got 5 MPH the speedo pegs.

Do any of you have set up instructions for the Dolphin speedometer with 8 dip switches?

I called Dolphin and they said they are having a hard time finding documentation on an old one like this. I would replace the speedo but they changed from black needles to red which means I have to swap both gauges and maybe all the sending units.

Do you have a picture of the back? I am running the 4L60E but I have the Dip switch set up on the VSSB for calibration. Check out this page and see if it helps any.

If you have a set of Dolphin Gauges and you have the electronic speedo, here's how:

Quote: You are going to pace or follow another car with an accurate speedometer. First, go to the backside of your speedometer and remove the rectangular rubber cap. Put switches 3, 5 and 6 in the up position ... all other switches go in the down position for your road/pace test. You and the pace car will drive at 55 mph ... note what speed your gauge is reading.

This is the back of mine. I tapped into one of the two wires at the transmission, I am wondering if it is sending out different pluse than the speedo is expecting.

I found this page in the past and it looked hopeful until I click into the speed links to adjust and the chart shows 9 dip switch options. I believe my speedometer is older that that with 8 dip switches.
