Speedo Cable Leak on NP-205
I have read a few threads on correcting oil leaking at the speedo cable hookup at the NP-205 . My cable goes into a gear reduction housing that connects to the NP-205 speedo housing. In previous threads I've read the fix as replacing the speedo sleeve in the transfer case(part # is now discontinued), others I've read to replace the seal. Where does the seal go on the sleeve or the reduction housing part? Do you suggest I replace the reduction housing? And where to get one?

Re: Speedo Cable Leak on NP-205
There is a small O-ring seal inside the speedo adapter, some people will tell you to replace that and will be ok. Mine wasn't and I searched and found a replacement adapter that comes with the new O-rings. Installed and no more leak...The problem becomes where can you find one as they have been discontinued. I found mine here a few years ago https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/

Do you have a seal installed where the adaptor screws onto the speedo gear output? There is supposed to be an o ring under the nut. I used a garden hose washer for a while on my 81 with a 465.
