327 into the place of a 305?

I was wondering if i needed to use the dizzy from my 85 or use an older one that doesnt have the computer control when i put a 327 into my 85? Also what is a 327 bored .060 over anyway....a 337?

I would use an older dizzy and a carb to prevent any computer related problems. If you plan on keeping the computer controlls however, you will need to keep it (good luck).

yea, Id use a non feedback HEI, unless of course your using the computer. I think a .060 over 327 is a 335

You can still use the distributor from your 85. go to here and it will tell you how to do away with the esc without having to change distribuotrs. go to the part toward the bottom of the page.

If the 327 still has the original heads, make sure the accessory bolt holes are on the heads, or be ready to swap all of the accessories..

I had the engine in my 63 chevy. It had around 8 thousand miles on it. I recently started building a 421 for the 63 so im putting the 327 into the 85,so luckily i allready have all the brackets,except for an extra power steering bracket. I have one on my 63 that just bolts to the 2 holes on the block...anybody have another one of these? Thanks for the information!
