need help on rear trailing arm bushings
Ok I have the old bushings out greased up the new poly bushing per directions and cant get the small side to go on far enough for the arm to go back into the cross member. The arm has a metal lip that sticks out one side that is exactly the depth causing the issue. Is this lip supposed to be ground down before installing the new bushing? The supplied direction sheet is almost worthless.
TIA Richard

Re: need help on rear trailing arm bushings
I am wondering if I should sand down the poly sleeve vs grinding down the metal sleeve sticking out of the arm? I have run thru a lot of searches and found a few other people had the same issue but no answers

Re: need help on rear trailing arm bushings
The only way I see it going in is to leave off the little end cap. Without that it is real tight but will just go in without prying on anything. I tried sanding on the end cap but it is like sanding on Titanium.

Re: need help on rear trailing arm bushings
Lol
I thought I was the only one that had had this problem. I have only done two sets but i fought both. I was able to apply a lil pressure with the press which gained a little. Just be careful not to go to far. It was still very tight reinstalling the arm in the crossmember. I used lots of grease and persuaded it in with a bottle jack if i remember correct.

Re: need help on rear trailing arm bushings
Finally bit the bullet and took the angle grinder with 50 grit pad and knocked them down a bit and it finally went up in there.
