I am proud of all the soldiers presently serving our country. Regardless of our political beliefs for its start, the men and women serving are among the finest you will ever meet. I saw one member bad mouthing the military and the camaraderie of service that comes with it. Speaking as a Gulf War veteran (90-91) with 5 years of active duty service and a 20% disability discharge, I feel confident to say that he is definitely in the minority. There is an unspoken closeness among military veterans, especially those who have been in combat together. I would love to see some of my old buddies from Germany (87-90) that I was stationed with. Those were some of the best times of my life. Seeing someone from Ft. Bragg and my last unit would be more difficult because of what it reminds me of. Everyone should know that the sacrifices soldiers make are great, and those who have suffered through the horrors of combat deserve our highest respect and support.

My Career

Active duty Air Force 1963 to 1967 mostly at Charleston AFB S.C.
Joined the Michigan ANG at Battle Creek in 1983 and worked full time there until I retired last year. Worked c-130s in active and a-37s and a-10s in the guard as a crew chief and flight chief.
Been to Italy for short tours, Sicily for Kosovo support and to Al Jabar for deny flight and enduring freedom. Was there for three months supporting the war. I hail all the military guys and gals still serving all over the world and my prayers are there for all in harms way.

Flying A Desk These Days

USAF, going on 17 years total time. Air Cargo Specialist, Rhein-Main GE, C130H Loadmaster (4100 flying hours) Pittburgh ARS. Served in every major conflict since '89. Have been shot at by people I was trying to help. I like to think that I helped more good people live than bad people die. Fly a desk now as a retention manager. Tough job in wartime. Proud to serve with and for all the fine men and women on this board. Take care, Mike Todd, Msgt. (USAF)
