oil pressure line and vacuum line placement
Trying to install the oil pressure line and not sure if this is where it goes. Below is a picture of the top of the motor and there is an Allen wrench sticking out of where I think is where it goes. I have a brass plug that came with the kit of three gauges(oil pressure, water temp and amp gauge. I had instructions that came with all this stuff at one time but have lost them. If this is where it goes, how far does the tube need to go down into the fitting? I also have a question about vacuum line needed for power brakes. There is a Y fitting coming from the carb that goes to the distributor and to a valve cover but, these are the only places I see a vacuum line. If I come off from there, will the vacuum be strong enough to operate the brakes? I appreciate any help given with this. I'm just about ready to start this thing up, just got few more little things to wrap up.

That plug is a coolant passage.
The oil pressure is in the BLOCK, behind the distributor, and it's a very wee pipe thread. I think you can -just- see a pipe plug peeking from behind the intake manifold in your picture. That's about where it should be. The plug for power brakes used to thread right into the baseplate of the original Rochester Q-Jet. You could probably use a large existing port in the plenum or one of the runners behind the carb (in front of the distributor). What intake manifold do you have??

In this picture you can see where the oil pressure port is. I have a temporary line and gauge hooked to it. It only needs to stick through about an eighth of an inch, when you tighten that nut down it will crimp it.

Thanks to all for the help. I got the oil pressure fitting in and hooked up. All I need now is location for the vacuum line. Too bad I didn't put the oil pressure fitting in before the motor was installed, it was a royal PITA after. Oh well, live and learn!

Probably obvious to most....
Don't use the plastic oil pressure line kits.

Isnt there one just above the oil filter as well? I seem to remember one there.

Okay I looked it up online and remembered. I used that port on my 32 once, worked.
