WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

As title says: I need the metal retaining ring to hold the rubber boots around the shifter. Any quality will probably work.
Thanks,

Are you after a NP205 shifter boot retaining ring? I have a clean one for $35 shipped.
Thanks, Harlow

Re: WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

Hey there. Perhaps you could tell me. Lol. I have a 72 cst blazer if that helps. I do know the one I bought at a local dealers does not contour to the cover at all. It’s perfectly flat and the wholes don’t match up. Feel free to pm me if you’d like. If it’s the correct one I’ll take it so I’ll need pp info anyway. Thanks so much

Ok I checked around. If it’s 69-72 I’ll take it.
Thanks

I think Harlow has one for me but I haven’t heard back if his is 72 appropriate. How much are yours and when will they be ready?

Re: WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

Another quick question. How do these fit if they’re flat? I have a flat one now that sticks out over the contour of the trans cover. Are yours perhaps smaller.

Post pictures of what you have sounds like something is off.

Re: WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

Be a bit before I post a pic but I can say that the ring I bought from a truck shop looks bigger and the fact that the holes don’t line up tells me it was never the right one. But the owner said because they’re not reproduced people use those in lieu or the correct one. If I could get a measurement on the repop I’d know if it would fit.

That looks like some kind of universal ring? It has too many holes and looks to big for the TC boot

Those are very nice looking boot retainers, I'd be in for one but my K5 has the Dana 20

I'm not familiar with the Dana 20 shift pattern but if you can provide it....
I would be willing to engrave the correct pattern for you
Just let me know
Here are the rings before engraving

Not looking to hi Jack OP
The Dana 20 has a large square retainer, wouldn't be cost effective/or even possible to get a new setup, borrowed pic.
Thanks though, Mike

Re: WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

Thanks.
I believe so. I think the universal ring I bought was just a tad too big. Harlow shipped one out so I’ll post a comparison pic for others to see.

Hey Harlow. I got the ring but haven’t gotten to the truck to put it on. Is it supposed to be angled up on one end? Sorry for the lack of knowledge but just thinking about fit I thought it would be flat as the only contour on the hump would bend away from the ring. Thanks

Check the fit on your trans cover. I think the curve goes down to match the contour. Thanks, Harlow

Re: WTB Blazer 4X4 shifter boot retainer ring

Just checked. All of my originals have the same upturn, but it's towards the front of the cover. If it doesn't work for you I'm always happy to give a refund. Thanks, Harlow

That makes sense. I was looking at it wrong because the bottom is painted and top isn’t. But that should work. Thanks.
