Tire question for 1970 CST 10.

What size tire will work for my truck? I am lowering it 2 1/2”. I bought 18” x 8” wheels for the front and 18” x 9.5” for the rear.

What backspacing on your wheels? Stepside or fleet? Fleetside has more clearance for bigger tires.

On my 69 short step I have 235 55 17 on 17x8 4.5" bs wheels and in the rear 275 55 17 on 17x9 5" bs wheels. My front is disc brake swapped which moves the mounting surface out some. I have the wider 71-72 axle on my truck which my combo required for it to not rub. My truck is lowered 4 1/2" front 7" rear with a DJM flip kit.

You should be OK with 235 50 18 front and 275 or 285 50 18 on the rear with zero offset rims or slightly positive.

Have you done disc conversion? Not that it changes everything, but IMO if you want to drive one of these all the time in traffic discs are the absolute FIRST thing to spend your money on. Then maybe some wheels and tires.
