Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
Whenever I see a 68 CST, I look for the pedal chrom trim.
I kind of loosly consider the 68 chrome pedal trim on 68 CST's the acid test for factory CST's. It's pretty much the only thing that a true CST has that is not available as a seperate option. Of couse they could be fitted after the fact by someone. The 68 cst bench seat is also unique to 68 CST's. I agree that the 68 cst's lacked the special horn button that the 67's had.

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
Tom, What is unique about it? I'm still tryin to figure between cst and custom on my truck. I have no SPID or build sheet. I thought both Z62's and Z84's had the Z52 full depth foam seat. Is it the pattern on the seat cover?
Also do you know what the dash guage bezel edges should be colored. IE: black, silver, or chrome in 1968. Thanks

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
I converted my 72 GMC 4X into a "super custom", it was easy, I just bought new emblems for the fenders! I actually thought my truck was "super" after all the work I did to it and I liked the emblem! Now I'm wondering what a real "super custom" is! Anyone know?

Thanks for that pic. Not in a hurry but I will end up seeing the back of my own badge since I got my model year-correct, option accurate CST badge ordered and on the way! I think its kind of redundant for GM to have done that since CST is basically a CUSTOM Sport Truck, yet different from a CUSTOM optioned truck. LOL. All these little details! Quote:
On that note, anyone interested in some soon to be removed CUSTOM badges...? |

NOW she's a true Custom Sport Truck(z84 CST), as indicated on the SPID ~
Oh, and toms68cst, my truck passes the chrome pedal trim acid test too! |

This has been a real informative conversation.
Thanks for all your knowledge, it has helped a lot of guys. Your truck needs to have a bigger picture mac808, so we can see that beauty.

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
Now,there are chrome all metal and silver all metal horn buttons. Would the chrome ones be '68 CST? And the non-chrome be 67/68? Or did 67 Customs also have chrome horn buttons?

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
resurrecting a REAL old one here guys.
were CST emblems available on the 1967 CST trucks (Z84 RPO) or did they come with the Custom emblems on door? Most of the vendors/catalogs I've looked at do not show the CST door emblem on 67 models, only 68's anyone know for sure? thanks! Last edited by Willie Makeit; 12-17-2018 at 10:27 PM. |

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
They were on 67s also. Here's an example. It's actually on this SPID twice(!) and the CST emblem still present on the door.

Re: What is difference between Custom and CST?
The CST door emblems with yellow accent are Blazer pieces. The trucks got red and blue bars
