I used a 2 part epoxy putty PC-7 to restore my steering wheel. I dremeled out the cracks down to the metal ring and bored some anchor holes at an angle within the slot. I let it set up overnight. The putty is thick enough so it doesn't sag, sands and primes easily. I finished the wheel in Bombay Ivory, I don't like a hot sun baked steering wheel.
